  Facial Hair and J.W.'s

  i have always wondered why witnesses are not "allowed" to have facial hair.

  when i asked a local elder just a few weeks ago (he had no idea i was inactive, just happened to bump into him while my parents were visiting from out of town), his explanation was that "in some countries, it is totally acceptable to have beards, goatees etc...., but in the u.s. of a., facial hair is a sign of rebellion.

  so, the local or territorial opinions on beards is what drives the local congregations policies.

  They don't want to be mistaken for Orthodox Jews

  They want to distance themself from Russell

  Facial hair reminds to many on the Governing Body of their mothers.

  Actually it is just a made up Watchtower rule that tests submission

  JW Elder Spy Stories

  after my brother-in-law left bethel, he got a "worldly" girlfriend.

  the local jws wanted to know if he was living with her or not.

  so they got the city overseer to spy on him.

  I never spied on anyone, but two elders would drive by homes of sisters to see if worldy men were spending the night. One they disfellowshipped, one moved away. One elder asked a sister to check the home of a sister on her way home. So much for trusting in god to reveal things. Yes it is a Police state! Big brother is watching

  What is it with Bangladesh?

  i boggle when i read the jw's worldwide service report and see that bangladesh, with a population of over 100,000,000 only has about 100 witnesses.. doesn't jehovah or the organisation care about bangladeshis?.

  so much for 'and this good news will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come'.

  I did apologize for removing a pioneer (service comm.) who had a fall out with an elder. She was right, he was wrong. She was a woman. he was an elder. Need I say more?

  after reading some of the pain that you've gone through, in many cases, the elders weren't there at all for you.

  i'm wondering what your biggest complaint about the elders is.

  Too many times they act like a police force.

  It really is a kiss ass club. If your in with the elders your golden. Offend 0ne and your done with the whole body.

  They are afraid of the Society first, God second.

  Just curious, what have some of you done with your exspensive book bags?

  i use my book bag to store my computer soft ware in its perfect for that.

  and as for all the old issues of magazines i used them to start my wood stove on those cold mornings.

  one time i asked for a lot of older issues from the friends so i could use them to line the bottom of my camp tent, they were more than happy to give them to me.

  i did once... they're help was more troubling than not.

  ZERO HELP in 20 years

  Plenty of emotional abuse.

  When they lovingly wanted to discipline me, I told them to kiss my butt.

  Sometimes it makes me so sad that it took so long to see what a truely self center organization this is.

  WT = Satan?

  an idea has crossed my mind.. i don't think that any other religion uses the words "new light" more than the watchtower.. satan is also known as lucifer.. but the root words for lucifer are the latin "lux" which means "light", and "ferre" which means "to carry".

  lucifer actually means "the light carrier".

  imho, this would make the gb the equivalent of lucifer.
